Introduction

Welcome to the 32nd Annual West Coast Biological Sciences Undergraduate Research Conference, a celebration of undergraduate research and the colleges and universities that support it. This year, the conference is hosted by the Department of Biology and the Seaver College of Science and Engineering at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. The conference takes place on Saturday, April 28, 2007, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, at LMU's Westchester campus.

Founded by Santa Clara University in 1975, the conference offers undergraduates an opportunity to present their original biological research to students and faculty from other institutions.

The primary goals of the West Coast Biological Sciences Undergraduate Research Conferences are:

1) to provide a forum for the presentation of original biological research by undergraduates;

2) to foster interactions among students and faculty from academic institutions where active undergraduate research programs exist;

3) to provide opportunities for interactions between students and representatives from biological science industries.
